Overview

IX2 is a two-part reactive intumescent coating built for demanding fire-protection environments. It suits a wide range of specialized applications, including aircraft panels, ship interiors, train cars, modular building components, SIPs (Structural Insulated Panels), and exterior surfaces that require long-term fire resistance.

Unlike traditional water-based products, IX2 combines fire resistance and moisture resistance in a single application. Its composition includes Part A (50%), Part B (48%), and Part C (2%) Accelerant. The monomers remain liquid until activation, allowing rapid and controlled curing: the coating hardens within 14 minutes and fully cures in just one hour, creating a high-gloss, smooth, plastic-like surface.

IX2 has been tested for up to 120 minutes of fire resistance and does not require primer on most substrates. Its fire protection works through advanced intumescent action, producing a dense, insulating char layer when exposed to high heat. Compared to traditional coatings, IX2 has a more compact expansion profile, typically 5 to 7 centimeters.
